"Finding New Realities: Narratives of Chinese American Artists in New York,"an artist panel based on of the exhibition “Finding New Realities,” has been hold on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Pace University's Student Union. The panel, moderated by international art critic and curator, Lilly Wei, include two artists, Jennifer Wen Ma and Xin Song, whose work is displayed in the exhibition. The panel explore how Jennifer and Xin’s work have been shaped by the multiplicity, multi-consciousness, streaming information, and diversity of materials and technology that characterize contemporary culture and how they have used traditional and contemporary disciplines from both East and West. Issues discussed include what it is like to be an Chinese-American artist living today in New York, environmental concerns, the influence of Chinese and American culture, the role of personal narratives.
